Chelsea have added another striker to their squad. Following recent injuries, the English club have decided to sign Deivid Washington from Brazilian side Santos to strengthen their attack.
"The teenage forward has signed a seven-year contract, with the option of a further year, following a breakout season in South America and follows Angelo Gabriel in joining from Santos," they wrote on their website.
"Washington can play anywhere across the line in the final third but predominately operates as a striker. He sealed his transfer earlier today and the Brazilian becomes our latest summer addition."
According to several reports in England, the Blues have paid €16 million - plus €4 million in add-ons. The Brazilian striker will play at Stamford Bridge until 2030. Nonetheless, the 18-year-old is expected to be loaned out rather than play for the first team this campaign.
