Goals. Legend. Hard work. This is what many Madridistas think of when they hear the name Cristiano Ronaldo. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner is undoubtedly considered the greatest legend in the history of Real Madrid, a legend whose departure was announced on 10th July 2018.
Cristiano Ronaldo spent nine seasons at 'Los Blancos', in which he had enough time to become the top scorer in one of the best teams in history. During the period between 2009 and 2018, the Portuguese had some spectacular figures. His time in all competitions wearing Real Madrid's jersey gave him an average of 1.03, as he scored a whopping 450 goals in 438 games.
Moreover, the now Al Nassr player not only broke records on an individual level, but helped the club to one of their greatest golden eras in their history. The former Manchester United player, forming the feared BBC trio alongside Bale and Benzema, was key to Real Madrid winning four Champions League titles in five years, three of them in a row.
Precisely, it was a Champions League final that was the last game of the Portuguese star with the 'Merengues'. Cristiano Ronaldo spent his last minutes in a Madrid shirt against Liverpool in Kiev on 2nd May 2018. The end of that game had a bittersweet taste for Madridistas, as they managed to win Europe's biggest competition for the third time in a row, but their superstar at the end of the game hinted that his time with Real Madrid was over.
"In the next few days I will give an answer to the fans, who have always been on my side. It was very nice to be at Real Madrid. In the next few days I will speak," were the player's words. Two months and a few days later the Spanish club issued a statement in which they said goodbye to their legend, who joined Juventus for 100 million euros.
