Midfielder Mesut Ozil wants to continue his football career in Turkey. After leaving Fenerbahçe and joining Istanbul Basaksehir, the former Real Madrid player underwent successful surgery on his back problems.
The Germany international and 2014 World Cup winner is only thinking about getting back on the pitch, as his agent Erkut Sogut told 'AS', who explained the player's short-term ambitions and ruled out retirement.
"Mesut underwent a successful operation. He will play again when he is fully recovered. It is not about leaving football. If it comes to that decision, he will explain it himself. He won't let anyone else do it for him. He already said he would not play for any other big team than Fenerbahçe," he explained.
He then revealed his intentions after leaving Arsenal: "More than him, it was me who dreamed of Mesut playing in the MLS. But he preferred to play in Turkey. Of course I respect that. Our task is to create the right alternatives for the players we represent. Mesut is very happy with his family in Turkey".
