Crystal Palace were far more dominant in the first 45 minutes than Manchester City but the Sky Blues showed their lethality through Erling Haaland, who found an equaliser in the 30th minute to restart the game at Selhurst Park. The second period was on fire when Lacroix put the Eagles ahead from a hosts' corner kick but Rico Lewis restored parity between the two teams in the 68th minute. With just five minutes left in the game, Rico Lewis was sent off after receiving his second yellow card of the match. The points were shared in London.
