Manchester United kept alive their hopes of salvaging a dismal season by qualifying for Europe as Amad Diallo's rocket inspired a 3-2 win against Newcastle on Wednesday.
"As a player, you need to be patient. It's not easy every time you train hard but you don't get what you want. I was training hard every day, waiting for my chance, and now I get my chance and score and I'm very happy for that," Diallo said when asked about his recent successes as a player.
"I go step by step. I know this year was not easy for me because I didn't play a lot. The most important thing was to go step by step, but when you get your chance, you fight for the team and help the team," he concluded.
The Old Trafford outfit are battling to secure a seventh place finish in the Premier League, which could secure a place in next season's UEFA Conference League.
