Joselu Mato, who is currently training with the Spanish national team for the Nations League, was flattered by Real Madrid's interest when questioned in an interview for 'AS' a few days ago. "Being linked with the best teams in the world is always positive," he said.
In the early hours of Monday morning, the Espanyol striker was clearer about his future plans and the possibility of joining 'Los Blancos' on 'El Larguero': "My idea and my intention is to continue enjoying playing in La Liga. I hope that my future can be resolved soon, for my good and that of my family".
"Playing for Madrid? We're talking about the best team in the world and any player on the planet would like to wear that jersey. Right now I don't know what's going to happen and, from there, hopefully what comes next will be nice," he added.
Moreover, Joselu himself recalled his beginnings in the 'Merengue' team: "I made my debut at the Santiago Bernabeu with Real Madrid. It's something that not many people can say. It's impossible to forget that: I scored on my debut thanks to a pass from Cristiano Ronaldo".
