Chelsea defeated AFC Wimbledon in the first round of the EFL Cup. The Blues won 2-1, with goals from Noni Madueke and new signing Enzo Fernandez, who scored his first goal wearing a Chelsea shirt.
After the match, manager Mauricio Pochettino was asked at the press conference about possible signings. The media asked him about Chelsea's move for English player Cole Palmer. "I don't know anything, at the moment. I cannot talk about players that do not belong to us. The club still didn't tell me"said the Argentinian manager.
Mauricio Pochettino did not want to give any statement about the possible announcement of any more signings before the end of the transfer window. Before leaving the conference room, he was also asked about the situation of Marc Cucurella.
"All the players that are involved every day in the training ground with us, training with us, are in our plan. You know, things happen because it's the decision of both parts, club and player, player and club," said the former Spurs coach.
Chelsea's Spanish full-back has been one of the latest rumors of the market being linked with Manchester United for a loan move. The 25-year-old Spaniard arrived at Stamford Bridge last season from Brighton for 65 million euros.
He has not been in Mauricio Pochettino's plans so far this season, as the Argentine prefers Ben Chillwell and it is possible that the former Brighton man is looking for a way out of the English capital.
