Chelsea announced their first squad list of pre-season on Tuesday. The Blues will face Wrexham on Thursday at 02.00 CEST.
Mauricio Pochettino has called up new signings Cristopher Nkunku and Angelo Gabriel. He has also decided to count on key players such as Enzo Fernandez, Ben Chilwell and Kepa Arrizabalaga, among others.
However, the Argentinian manager has not included Romelu Lukaku in his squad list and reporters asked him about the 30-year-old and his future. "It is the club and of course it is an interesting situation," he said.
"When this type of decision is [made, it is] because they all agree. The player and club are working hard to try and find best solution. It is obvious the decision had been made on the side of the player also. We act in consequence of the decision. The club and player are in the position they wanted."
As a result, Pochettino ruled out a possible future for Lukaku at Stamford Bridge and transfer negotiations are still ongoing.
