Chelsea struggled to beat Leeds in the last 16 of the FA Cup but were eventually beaten in the 90th minute by Gallagher's goal. Mauricio Pochettino after the game described his players as 'brave' after overcoming the EFL Cup final defeat to Liverpool. The Blues were described by former Man Utd player Gary Neville as "blue billion-pound bottle jobs" after losing to Klopp's side.
“With all my love to Gary, it is not fair to use this type of word (bottling) for a team that is so brave and a club that always shows it fights for big things. What can we do? Now, only with this type of performance, show that we are brave, can win games,” Pochettino said.
“It is not important for the team, it is not important for us, because we know who we are and how we behave and why we lost against Liverpool is nothing to do with this. We know we are brave, working hard," added the Argentinian.
Elsewhere, the match had an incident that slightly marred the Blues' victory when a fan fell from the Shed End stand and had to be treated by the emergency services.
Leeds issued a statement saying the incident will be investigated. “Leeds United can confirm an incident involving a Leeds United supporter occurred in the Shed End of Stamford Bridge during the first half of tonight’s FA Cup game. The incident is being investigated and is in the hands of the emergency services. We will be making no further comment at this time.”
