Paul Pogba has been provisionally suspended after testing positive for testosterone, the Italian Anti-Doping Agency (Nado) announced on Monday.
According to information revealed by GDS on Tuesday, the French international's positive test for testosterone was the result of taking a food supplement purchased in the United States on the advice of a doctor friend, without Juventus having been informed.
On Wednesday, two days after the scandal was revealed, 'Sky Sports' reported that the player had admitted to the board that he had used testosterone, although he said he was not aware of it.
Pending the results of the second test, neither Pogba nor the Italian club have commented on the matter. However, should the tests prove positive, the French international's contract will be terminated. On top of that, he faces a suspension of between two and four years, which could mean a premature end to his career.
