A major scandal in the Premier League. A well-known figure, whose identity cannot be revealed but whose initials would be JZX, has been accused of raping a minor in the 1990s when the woman was only 15 years old.
'The Athletic' has brought the story to light and it is now back in the news, as a High Court judge has granted the anonymity order to protect him from bad publicity and possible damage to his reputation.
The alleged rapist has denied raping or having inappropriate relations with a minor, but admits asking her when she was 16 or 17 if she wanted to "earn some money for sex" and that this went on for several years.
The alleged victim has filed a claim for aggravated damages for sexual assault and intentional injury. She claims, similarly, that her parents had left her there and were waiting for her in their car outside the house.
The woman claims that she was then subjected to a "disgusting and traumatic" experience before she went to the bathroom to clean him, and that the alleged rapist told her she was "a good girl" and handed her £150.
The alleged victim has acknowledged that she did not report the incident at the time because of possible reprisals against her and her family, something that is strongly denied by the accused, who claims that over the last 20 years, he has had more than one relationship with the woman and even with her sister.
For the time being, and while waiting for a trial date to be set in the High Court, the accused continues to work normally.
