"Promes? Mendy and Alves haven't stopped being my friends either"

In front of the media, the Atletico Madrid striker defended his friendship with Quincy Promes, arrested and convicted of drug trafficking in the Netherlands.

The striker was asked about a photo of him and Promes on holiday: "We footballers create a lot of content and I post all sorts of things on social media. Finally, the 'Colchonero' spoke about other friendships he has. "People should realise that I come from a difficult background. My brother was also in jail for 10 years and I was hardly ever asked about it. But about Promes. Benjamin Mendy and Dani Alves were also involved in criminal cases, but that doesn't mean they are no longer my friends. That doesn't mean I say they do the right thing or that I support everything they do, but I won't let them down," he said.
