Paris Saint-Germain have remained silent on the future of Kylian Mbappe for the past few months, but French outlet 'L'Equipe' sees some signs of confidence in extending the star player's contract, who can sign for another club from 1st January.
The sports daily said Saturday that there has recently been "a feeling of confidence" at PSG about the possibility of extending Mbappe's contract, which expires next summer, because the player is happy and because the dialogue with president Nasser Al-Khlelaifi is fluid.
The most optimistic sources consulted by 'L'Equipe' even believe that the outcome could come much sooner than the last time he was renewed in 2022, when they had to wait until the last day of the tournament.
But beyond these speculations covered by anonymity, what is certain is that PSG's discourse has not changed and officially refuses to make any comment so as not to encourage a return to a communication war like the one that took place in the summer of 2023.
Nor does the French national team captain's clan want to encourage such speculation since the two sides buried the hatchet in August thanks to a compromise with which the club covered its back, at least from a financial point of view.
IMbappe would have to forgo several tens of millions of euros in bonuses if he were to leave on a free transfer to play for another team, which could be Real Madrid, with whom he will talk next week, but also Saudi Arabia, as the head of that country's professional league, Michael Emenalo, said a couple of weeks ago, or a number of English clubs.
