French journalist Florent Caffery reported on Tuesday that one of Olympique Lyon's first team buses was damaged after an attack by PSG fans. It all happened on board a boat carrying both the vehicle and the Parisians across the English Channel.
The coincidence is bad luck. On the one hand, the Paris Saint-Germain fans were travelling by ferry to London, where they will watch their team's Champions League match against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday.
On the other side, as usual, the Lyon bus crossed the sea and then travelled overland to Glasgow to pick up the players and staff, who will continue their Europa League campaign on Thursday against Rangers. Several PSG fans took the opportunity to vandalise their arch-rivals' vehicle.
In the images released, several graffiti on the bodywork of the bus can be seen, several of them alluding to Paris and PSG. Apparently, the ship's captain had to intervene to disperse the vandals and prevent further damage.
Fortunately for Olympique Lyon, 'RMC Sport' reports that the scribbles were erased within an hour and no further problems were reported. Thus, Pierre Sage's team will find the bus clean on arrival in the Scottish capital, where they will be looking for their second win in this Europa League after beating Olympiacos (2-0) in their debut.
