Luis Enrique's squad for the visit of Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-finals has been confirmed. The Spanish coach said in his pre-match press conference that he would be pleased to face a Barcelona side with no absentees because he likes to see the best possible players on the pitch.
The call-ups are Navas, Ugarte, Marquinhos, Mbappe, Fabian, Goncalo Ramos, Dembele, Asensio, Danilo, Vitinha, Kang-In Lee, Lucas Hernandez, Kolo Muani, Nuno Mendes, Carlos Soler, Barcola, Zaire-Emery, Beraldo, Skriniar, Mayulu, Zague, Arnau Tenas and Donnarumma. It will be a special day for Tenas, who faces the team he was part of in the past, although he will be relegated to his usual role in France, that of a substitute.
Mbappe is quite likely to be a starter in contrast to his day-to-day life in Ligue 1. His coach has opted to take him off the pitch with time left in domestic matches or not to start him at all. Aware that he will leave the squad at the end of the season if he doesn't change his mind again, he wants to get his dressing room used to winning without him.
This time, however, it makes sense to use him from start to finish in the tie against Barcelona. The 'Cules' are not presented as favourites, but they have the incentive of playing the second leg at home. In the round of 16, against Real Sociedad, 'Lucho' already used his star player to knock out Imanol Alguacil's side.
