Speaking to journalists after visiting him in hospital, his wife, Alba Silva, said that the Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper was released from the ICU on Tuesday and that they will now be able to "be with him for 24 hours", although there is still no forecast as to when he could be discharged from hospital.
Alba Silva recalled the almost month and a half that her family is going through, and thanked them for being with her "100%: that is the greatest thing and we are very happy", she said.
The 29-year-old goalkeeper, who came through the youth ranks at Sevilla, where he was in the first team from 2014-15 to 2018-19, was on Saturday 27th May called up to the French squad for the penultimate game of the French league, which they played at Strasbourg, where PSG drew 1-1 to win the tournament.
After that match, the goalkeeper went to the village of El Rocio, where he had an accident and was evacuated on Sunday 28th May to the hospital in Seville, where he has been since then.
