Rafael Leao was forced off after injuring his right thigh during the Lecce-AC Milan match (2-2) on Saturday. He is suffering from a "level 1 injury to the biceps femoris of the right thigh" and will therefore remain in Italy during the international break.
As a result, the left-winger will miss Portugal's next Euro-2024 qualifiers. His presence against Fiorentina on 25th November is also uncertain.
The former Lille man is not the only one to miss Portugal's next two matches. FC Porto defender Pepe, who also went off injured against Guimaraes on Saturday, is also out.
Roberto Martinez's Portugal have already qualified for next year's European Championship in Germany.
