Rafael Leao, in a press conference with the Portuguese national team, said he wants to improve his individual statistics:"I have to be more selfish in front of goal. I grew up watching players who didn't have that eye for goal, like Ronaldinho and Robinho, and since I was a kid my goal was to dribble past the opponent”.
He also pointed out that he tries to be “more decisive” because today's football “is more about statistics”. “Sometimes, you can have a great game, but, if you don't score a goal or an assist, they will say that your game was mediocre,” said the ‘Rossoneri’ striker.
Rafael Leao, 25, is part of Roberto Martinez's call-up for Portugal's upcoming matches in the Nations League, the first one this Friday against Poland and the next one on Monday against Croatia.
The Portuguese national team is first in Group A1 and only needs a point against the Poles - who will be without Barcelona's Robert Lewandowski due to injury - to secure their place in the quarterfinals.
