Rakitic grateful to Barca for treating him as a legend: 'What an honour!'

Barcelona have a section on their website which lists their "Legends". Ivan Rakitic, who was at the club between the 2014-15 and 2019-20 seasons, has not been listed so far. He scored in the final of the 2015 Champions League in Berlin and his trophy cabinet includes, in addition to this trophy, 4 La Liga titles, 4 Copa del Rey, 2 Spanish Super Cups and a Club World Cup.
The Croatian himself announced this on his social networks, where he sent a message of affection and gratitude. Lately, his activity has focused more on his new life in the Middle East, where he has integrated perfectly. He is seen as a leader not of his team, but of the competition in general.
"What an honour to enter the list of legends of this very special club alongside the great names who have worn its colours. I would like to thank the FC Barcelona institution for believing in me in the summer of 2014, to the president, the staff, all my teammates, and all the cules for their support and all the moments shared", wrote the midfielder.
To consult the "Legends" section of the Barca website is to see Rakitic among players such as Luis Suarez, Andres Iniesta... or Dani Alves. The Brazilian, recently convicted of sexually assaulting a girl on 31 December 2022 in a discotheque, remains in this Barca Olympus after being withdrawn for a while a month ago and returning later. Perhaps the club is waiting for the conviction to become final before making a decision.
