Real Madrid's German midfielder Toni Kroos admitted that 'El Clasico' was "not a good game" despite the win against Barcelona, and took a dig at Real Madrid's eternal rivals on his podcast, saying that if they had "played well" they could have "won 4-0".
"As for the level of the game, the truth is that it wasn't good from both sides. We have to recognise that. Both teams made a lot of mistakes and lost a lot of balls. In fact, if we had played well in 'El Clasico', we could have beaten them 4-0," said Kroos in the podcast he records with his brother Felix.
The German midfielder revealed the way in which Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti motivates his players to leave La Liga settled so they can focus on winning the Champions League.
"He told us last week, before the game against Mallorca, 'if we win, we're done'. It was difficult to win and then he told us 'I lied to you, if we win next week, it's over'," he said.
His players delivered in in 'El Clasico' and after rewarding them with two days off, he has now asked them to finish off La Liga campaign in San Sebastian on Friday. "Everything will be over when we beat Real Sociedad on Friday.
