Real Madrid decide against signing players until summer window
Despite the number of injuries increasing, Real Madrid have decided not to sign any player this January transfer window, as per 'AS'. The Spanish giants want to rely on their youth-team for the rest of the season as they believe waiting for the summer will bring more attractive and profitable opportunities.

Real Madrid have been hit with a real injury crisis this season. 'Los Blancos' are without goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois between the posts, whilst the problems further up the pitch only get worse. In attack, Carlo Ancelotti sees himself without Rodrygo, who has recently sustained an injury that will keep him out for the rest of the month, meanwhile Tchouameni is the absentee in midfield after spraining his ankle. But the defense is what's making the fans panic. Militao, Carvajal and Alaba are all out due to ACL injuries, with Lucas Vazquez joining them on the sidelined with his recent adductor longus injury.
The number of injuries suggest that Real Madrid will be desperate to look for replacements during the upcoming January transfer window, however, 'AS' deny that's the case. According to the Spanish outlet, Madrid have chosen to wait until the summer to make any signings as it is understood that they deem said option to be more profitable and reliable. As a result, the plan seems to be to hold on for dear life until the end of the season.
Moreover, the club are reportedly looking to rely on their youth players to step up during this time of emergency. Ancelotti is said to be a little reluctant to give responsibility to youngsters, but understand that it's a question of necessity. Assistant manger Davide Ancelotti has reportedly been following several youth and Castilla players for some time, with Jesus Fortea seemingly being his favourite. The right-back has been called up to the U19s and could now be set to be involved with the first-team.
Tchouameni - once he recovers from his won injury - is set to sacrifice his role in midfield to partner-up with Rudiger in defense to fill in for the absence of Militao. That said, Ancelotti could opt for Raul Asencio, who has impressed in his debut for the senior team against Osasuna at the weekend. The Spaniard provided an assist for teammate Jude Bellingham just before half-time.
