The 19th La Liga matchday brings an exciting game between Real Madrid and Real Sociedad in which both teams start as second and third in the table.
On Saturday, Carlo Ancelotti, coach of Real Madrid, spoke to the media ahead of the crucial game against the Basque giants. "The objective is to improve on the first half against Atletico," he said.
"In football there are difficulties. We have to keep a cool head and be self-critical. I'm doing my bit and so are the other players," he said.
The Italian coach commented on the 'Colchoneros' statement after the Copa del Rey clash: "We deserved to win and I'm not going to talk about the rest".
"Real Madrid are not playing well? They said the same thing when we won the Champions League last season," he added. Ancelotti also spoke about rumours of his son moving to the Premier League: "David will not go to Everton. He wants to be first team coach, but for the moment he is doing very well here and wants to finish the job that is not finished here".
The transalpine coach on Vinicius: "Vinicius prepared for the derby as if it was just another game. He ran a lot, he made mistakes but in the end he scored".
"Rodrygo's position? I like the 4-2-3-1. We use Rodrygo, Modric and Asensio as MCO. We are thinking about it. It's probably the best position for Rodrygo," he said.
"The referee's job is very complicated. In some things he has helped a lot, such as offside, but subjectively he creates controversy," he said after being asked about Soto Grado's role in the Madrid derby.
Ancelotti on Carvajal's fitness: "He is coming back from injury. I have full confidence in him and he will be able to return for the Valencia game, as will Alaba and Tchouameni. He also spoke about on their next opponent: "Real Sociedad are playing very well and are in a good dynamic. We have to improve in the first half. After what happened against Atleti, it's important to play a complete game offensively and defensively".
