Aymeric Laporte wants to return to European football. 'Al Yaum' reported that the Spanish international intends to terminate his contract with Al Nassr after an unproductive season and in view of the level he showed at the European Championship.
Laporte's decision to leave, according to these sources, has led to an emergency meeting between Fernando Hierro, sporting director; Luis Castro, coach; and Al-Muhaidib, president of the Saudi club.
Laporte does so in the knowledge that he has top-level clubs interested in signing him. 'AS' insists that Real Madrid is one of them, even more so given Yoro's decision to leave for Manchester United and the delay in David Alaba's recovery.
That's when Laporte's name was mentioned. Real Madrid do not want to make any big outlay, but they know that it is necessary to reinforce the defence in view of the problems they are having and the length of the season.
The fact that they do not want to pay any kind of transfer fee could lengthen the transfer of the Euro 2024 winner with Spain, who is looking to return to European football in search of greater competitiveness after just one year in Saudi Arabia.
If he arrives, Laporte would complete the list of centre-backs alongside Eder Miliato, Antonio Rudiger, the still injured David Alaba and Jesus Vallejo, who returns from his loan spell at Granada.
