Real Madrid make Club World Cup final despite Al Ahly scare
Real Madrid set up a date with Saudi Arabia side Al Hilal in the FIFA Club World Cup final after a 1-4 victory over Egyptian side Al-Ahly in Rabat. Real Madrid were in control after goals from Vinicius and Valverde, but an Al-Ahly penalty with 25 minutes remaining set up a nervy finish. Ancelotti's side then struck twice in added time as Al-Ahly threw players forward.

Real Madrid are in the Club World Cup final, but it was far from straightforward. Ancelotti's side were the better team and hit the front just before half-time when Vinicius took advantage of a defensive error. Fede Valverde looked to have ended the contest when he struck moments into the second half, but Al-Ahly got a lifeline when Camavinga gave away a penalty. Maaloul converted to set up a nervy finish and the African side nearly levelled through a Mohamed header, but Lunin saved. Rodrygo and Arribas then sealed the win in added time after Modric had seen a spot kick saved.
