Since Karim Benzema announced his departure to Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabia, the legendary number '9' has been without an owner. And it could stay that way until 2024. The options on Real Madrid's radar range from Kylian Mbappe to Erling Haaland or Harry Kane. The only one who would have options to sign this summer, according to 'Sport', would be the PSG striker.

Real Madrid have strengthened their squad for the 2023-24 season. The club has already announced Fran Garcia, Jude Bellingham, Brahim Diaz and Joselu.
The former Espanyol player was the latest to join Carlo Ancelotti's ranks, but he will not be the number '9'. He will wear the '14', which leaves the club the possibility of incorporating a top striker for the position vacated by Karim Benzema.
A number of players have been mentioned on the team's shortlist. City's Erling Haaland, PSG's Kylian Mbappe and Tottenham's Harry Kane, among others.
Of all the strikers on the 'Merengues' shortlist, only one would have a chance of signing this summer, according to 'Sport'. According to the Catalan daily, Kylian Mbappe is the only player who could land at 'Los Blancos' before 2024, when his contract expires.

Rafaela Pimenta, Haaland's agent, has already made it clear that her client will remain in Manchester for the 2023/24 season. Tottenham owner Daniel Levy, for his part, refuses to let Harry Kane leave, so his departure looks more than complicated.
'Sport' claims that talks between Mbappe and Madrid have been resumed. However, 'Los Blancos' will not make a move until PSG give the green light to his transfer.
