Real Madrid are hoping that the Kylian Mbappe transfer saga will not be delayed any longer and will finally come to an end this second half of the season, i.e. in 2024.
The PSG star has been linked with a move to 'Los Blancos' for several years, with it being an open secret that the Frenchman's childhood dream is to play for the Santiago Bernabeu outfit.
However, an unexpected renewal in the summer of 2022 came as a blow to the Spanish club when many thought the attacker would be on his way out of the French club. However, this summer Mbappe told his club that he would not activate the one-year option clause on his renewal and would therefore be a free agent in 2024, something the Parc des Princes club were not happy about.
Real Madrid have now the upper hand, so the 'Merengues' have set a deadline for the French player to agree terms with the Spanish club to avoid what has happened in other years.
The 14-time Champions League winners have given the Paris star a period of 15 days from January 1st, 2024 to reach an agreement, according to reports from Spanish daily 'AS'.
The Spanish newspaper also mentions that should the France international put too many obstacles in the negotiations, 'Los Blancos' would stop trying to sign him and their main target would be to land Manchester City star Erling Haaland.
