Real Madrid v Valencia postponed match could be played on 2nd January
As 'Relevo' pointed out, the Valencia-Real Madrid match, postponed by the DANA, could be played on January 2nd, 2025. Because of this possible hypothesis, the dates of the Spanish Super Cup were modified. However, such a scenario is not allowed by the Professional Football Collective Bargaining Agreement, which prohibits the scheduling of matches between December 23rd and January 2nd.

Little by little, the world of sports in Spain is beginning to return to normal after being affected by the terrible consequences caused by the floods. The Valencian Community was one of the most affected regions, with several matches being postponed, both in the lower categories and in the First and Second Divisions.
One of them was the Valencia-Real Madrid match, which is the only one still without a date for its dispute. The tight schedule of Real Madrid, with the Champions League and the Intercontinental, has made the selection process difficult.
However, on Tuesday, the RFEF announced the timetable for the Spanish Super Cup, which has been changed. According to 'Relevo', among others, this is because the idea is that the league match between 'Ches' and 'Merengues' will be played on January 2nd.
However, a problem emerges before this: the Collective Agreement of professional soccer prevents it. As stated in the BOE, article 11.2 states: “No matches of any kind of official competition will be scheduled in the following time periods, both dates inclusive: Season 2024-25: from December 23, 2024 to January 2, 2025”. In order to be played on this date, there must be an agreement between the AFE and the players.
In the event that this agreement does not exist, the dates would be reduced even more, being able to leave until the month of May. Specifically, in the gap between the 37th and 38th matchday (penultimate and last). It is expected an arduous and intense negotiation to place this match, although, for the moment, it will wait until the end of the sixth round of the Champions League, in order to see if Madrid has options to be among the top 8 and thus facilitate the matter.
