Real Madrid have eyes on the long term. At the Santiago Bernabeu, they are clear as to who they need for the future.
'AS' claim that, for 2023-24, the club have decided what they will be trying for. The side want Jude Bellingham and a central striker. These are their objectives from June.
Madrid want Bellingham because they see him as a key piece. They understand that they need a midfielder like Dortmund's, who is experienced, but most of all, who is guaranteed to be around for a few more years.
The paper have reported that Madrid is Bellingham's preferred option. The player is sure he does not want to go to the Premier League, even though sides such as Liverpool are very interested in making space for him.
Signing the Englishman would cost around €100 million, but it could reach up to €150 million with the different add-ons. If it happens, Real Madrid would have to make a big investment.
Borussia Dortmund consider it to be all over, as 'AS' reports. They supposedly think at the club that he wants to go, even though they are going to try everything in their power to convince him to stay with a sizable sum. They are thought to be prepared to pay him €15 million per year, even though the youngster's eyes are already set away from the Bundesliga.
The other business that Madrid are thinking about getting done in the summer is signing another number 9. Karim Benzema is an undoubted starter in Ancelotti's plans until 2024, but the club want a player who can cover for him if the Frenchman needs a break.
A back-up striker is what the side are looking for, as the plan is to go all out for Erling Haaland in 2024, when Benzema's contract is up. It is a move which could be similar, as the source explains, to the one which was carried out with Adebayor and Chicharito back in the day. For now, no names have been batted around, but Madrid are thinking about perusing the market now to look for the perfect man for the job.
