Real Madrid's midfielder Jude Bellingham said it was "ridiculous" to be given a two-match ban for the red card he received at Mestalla for his angry protest to referee Gil Manzano and claimed it was a "f***ing goal" for the action he disallowed by whistling for the end of the game.
"It's difficult to say anything because there are investigations and appeals going on, what happened, happened with the referee and his decision to whistle. We all know what happened. We have to remember that he is human, but I am human too. They should use a bit more common sense to judge my actions because I didn't say anything offensive, I acted in a similar way to my team-mates," he said on 'Movistar'.
"Sometimes I think that because I'm new they want to make an example of me. I take it well because at the end of the day I have to be responsible for my actions and I gave them the reason to send me off. I think the club can come to terms with their appeal because two games for that is a bit ridiculous, but if I have to take responsibility I will support the team from the stands," he added.
Bellingham hopes that the club's appeals will be successful so that he does not have to miss the games against Celta and Osasuna, Real Madrid's next two La Liga fixtures.
