The Robert Navarro soap opera has ended with the player at Mallorca. His contract with Real Sociedad expires in June 2025, but he finally left for the Balearic side.
"I returned to Real this summer and there were some strange situations. I entered the last year of my contract and there are variables there that also weigh on the club. I tried to make the best decision for me and the club tried the same for them. The club was trying to renew me, but I didn't see it clearly. Everyone looks out for their own side," he told Relevo.
"I got there and they tell me that either I renew or I'm not going to play a minute. As a footballer, you have a contract, you're a professional and you have to fulfil it - it's a bit strange, especially when it comes to gaining confidence and knowing that if I renew and I don't play for another two years, it would be difficult. You're putting your career on the line, so to speak," he added.
"People talk, but I'm very calm. This has just begun. At Mallorca, I signed up for one year and then I'm free to choose my future. I want to know that if I go somewhere else or stay in Mallorca, it's because I want to go there. That's what weighed most heavily on my decision to leave Real," he concluded.
