Real Sociedad are not getting any worse for wear. The San Sebastian outfit, who are going through a delicate situation in terms of results, announced on Monday the long-term absence of Hamari Traore and the temporary absence of Brais Mendez, both injured in the La Liga clash against Getafe.
The former suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, while the latter relapsed from his injury last March and has a recurrence of his foot injury.
Imanol Alguacil already sensed that Mendez had a metatarsal injury at the post-match press conference at the Coliseum. The Spaniard was only on the pitch for 26 minutes after a collision.
"The return to his activities will be progressive, depending on the characteristics of the injury and the evolution of the symptoms," added the club's medical report, which did not give a return date for the playmaker.
Real Sociedad, who are 13th in the table with four points from a possible 12, will try to take advantage of the international break to change their strategies.
