Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann lamented on Wednesday after the 5-3 defeat to Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup that his side conceded "a lot of goals", recalled his side's "very strong defence" in the past and considered it "something incredible" to enter Atletico Madrid's history.
"We conceded a lot of goals again. We have things to improve. We have another game next Thursday. We have to rest well, work well to rest as well as possible and be at 100% on Thursday," he told 'Movistar'.
"We know it's something we have to improve. Until we improve it, games like this will happen. It's something that represents Atletico Madrid to be a very strong defence and I'm not just talking about the defenders, I'm talking about everyone, and we have to improve it," he added.
For him, his team are "very good" up front, but he remarked that it is "better to look at" what the red and white team needs to "improve" and "work on it", when next week's derby on Thursday is looming.
The Frenchman sees the tie in the Copa del Rey in the same way: "At home, a nice game to play, again with our fans, I think the fans are really looking forward to it and I'm sure the stadium will be full".
