Rodrigo Riquelme was the big news in the return to training of the Spanish national team at the Ciudad del Futbol, after being called up urgently by Luis de la Fuente because of the muscle overload suffered by Lamine Yamal against Denmark, and completed an afternoon session that confirmed the good condition of Fabian Ruiz.
The win against Denmark in Murcia left two players injured and after returning to the Ciudad del Fútbol in the early hours of the morning, they were examined by the national team doctors on Sunday morning. Lamine Yamal is suffering from a muscle strain which ruled him out of Tuesday's game and Fabian Ruiz was simply muscle fatigue, so he remains in the training camp.
Fabian was one of the first-choice players who did a recovery session between the gym and continuous running on the main training pitch of the Spanish Federation's sports city.
A group reinforced by Rodrigo Riquelme, who after being called up by De la Fuente, arrived quickly at Las Rozas early in the afternoon and was one more in the training session along with Oscar Mingueza, Pau Torres, Pau Cubarsí, Marc Cucurella, Mikel Merino, Aleix Garcia, Alex Baena, Sergio Gomez, Bryan Zaragoza and Joselu Mato. Goalkeepers Alex Remiro and Robert Sanchez also trained intensely.
It was the first of two sessions Luis de la Fuente has at his disposal to prepare for the Nations League matchday four clash against Serbia, in which Spain could mathematically qualify if they win.
