One of the big attractions of the 2024 MLS season is the presence of former Barcelona players at Inter Miami, but it's not just the 'Herons' who have talent with a Barcelona background.
The Los Angeles Galaxy have been enjoying the presence of Riqui Puig in their midfield for some time now, where he is usually one of the best players in the team every matchday. Sunday morning was no exception.
The youth international had to face his former Barcelona teammates Leo Messi, Luis Suarez, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets, from whom he learned a lot during the time they played together. Because of his younger age, he was always in the background in the line-ups in which the names of the five appeared, although this is understandable given the quality that has always characterised the 'Cules' midfield.
Before their clash in California, the American League cameras captured them shaking hands and greeting each other affectionately just minutes before kick-off. The Spanish midfielder was especially friendly with his counterpart, whom he hugged while the full-back, next to him, stroked the back of his head at the nape of his neck and the crown of his head. However, love soon gave way to a confrontation on the pitch, in which their match ended in a 1-1 draw.
