Spain are already in the quarterfinals. The team coached by Luis de la Fuente overcame Georgia, who made things difficult for them early on. An own goal by Le Normand forced 'La Roja' to turn the score around, with Rodri making it 1-1.
"We knew that from the start. Maybe they didn't have the name of other teams, but they put us in trouble. In the first part of the match we had chances, but we came back and the team showed pride. We knew it was going to be more complicated than the previous days, that they were going to run more, be more united," he said.
Regarding his goal from outside the box, the midfielder said the following: "I have to play more in those areas. They had two players off the ball and those positions were unprotected. The first one I had, the ball came hard to me, I was able to control it and hit it. They scored a goal without doing much, but we showed maturity and we have to improve things if we want to go through".
Finally, Rodri set his sights on the quarter-final clash against Germany, the hosts of this Euro. "They play at home, we have weapons. I am convinced that they are not happy that we are playing them. We have to give our best with the level shown by this national team and with the people who come to support us, we are going to need them", he concluded.
