Rodrygo Goes and Lucas Vazquez will undergo medical tests next Monday to find out the extent of their respective muscle injuries that forced them to leave the field prematurely in a match against Osasuna, in which Eder Militao suffered a serious injury to his right knee.
The centre-back suffered a ‘complete tear of the anterior cruciate ligament with involvement of both menisci in the right knee ’ which will keep him out for around nine months, while Rodrygo and Lucas will be out for less time. However, according to EFE, the club are not very optimistic that they will be able to recover in a short period of time.
Rodrygo has an injury to his rectus femoris in his left leg and is expected to be out for at least a month, while Lucas, with a left adductor injury, is expected to be out for at least three weeks. Three more injury setbacks for Carlo Ancelotti, who currently has seven players in the infirmary.
Aurelien Tchouameni is out for a month with a sprained left ankle suffered against Milan; David Alaba and Dani Carvajal both have serious knee injuries, with the Austrian nearing the end of his recovery time while the Spaniard is expected to return for next season; and Thibaut Courtois is expected to return after the international break from a muscle injury.
