AS Roma player Chris Smalling was the victim of a burglary at his home in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The house is located in the city of Rome and was broken into by a group of four individuals, who broke a window to enter the English footballer's home and tried unsuccessfully to open a strongbox.
The Italian police, who are already investigating the incident and gathering any possible evidence, are raising the possibility of an experienced gang from Eastern Europe.
The former Manchester United player was already the victim of an armed robbery at his home in 2021. Four months later, he was the victim of a second one when two men were spotted by CCTV cameras in the garden of his home, but they fled before the police arrived.
