Barcelona's new home kit for the 2024-25 season has been officially confirmed. Websites specialising in leaking the designs of elite clubs had already revealed that the kit would be divided in half, in the characteristic blue and scarlet of the ‘Cule’ team, and now more details are known, such as the presence of a senyera -the Catalan flag- on the back of the neck and the addition of Spotify.
The logo of the online music platform will appear in the centre of the garment, with the badge also appearing in the middle instead of high and to the left, as usual. The shape of the collar is another new feature. It closes neither in a sort of circle nor in a beak, but has a horizontal line between the two connections on the sides with the area in front of the visible nut.
For the presentation video, the club has used the figures of Ronaldinho and Ronald Koeman, among others. There is also a deep allusion to the roots of Barcelona with images such as Ronald Araujo and several of his teammates eating ‘pan tumaca’ -bread with tomato- or Andres Iniesta cooking. Similarly, there are references to the rich artistic culture of its streets. Pedri Gonzalez and Fermin Lopez, for example, can be seen painting.
Barcelona warns, in its digital shop, that the Spotify logo will appear only with its logo, without its lettering, on the clothing with which the footballers will take to the pitch. Fans are also warned that the numbers have not yet been fully confirmed, so the onus is on fans to request a personalisation that, once the season starts, does not match the reality.
