On Monday, Al Nassr will kick off their 2023-24 pre-season. The Saudi side will bring in the new campaign will a friendly against Alverca, a team from Portugal's third division.
The team managed by Luis Castro, former Botafogo coach, has spent several days working in Portugal to prepare for their biggest season yet. However, the team will be missing two of its big names.
Despite playing the match on the home turf of its biggest star, Cristiano Ronaldo will not be present to play the first face off with his team. The reason is simple: the megastar is still on holiday. Having played games with Portugal at the end of the season, he is entitled to a few extra days off.
CR7 has been showing off his holidays, with the sea, the pool and his family being the main stars of his time off, although he has been seen training so he's ready to return to the squad when the time comes.
Marcelo Brozovic finds himself in a similar situation. The midfielder has been Al Nassr's biggest summer signing so far this year, but the team's fans will have to wait a bit longer to see the Croatian in action with the Saudi side. The former Inter player was playing in the Final Four of the Nations League with his country, and finished the tournament as runner-up to winners, Spain.
