Things aren't going as well as expected for Cristiano Ronaldo. He's now without the Champions Cup, Super Cup and if that wasn't enough, he's gone almost 300 minutes without scoring.
Al Wehda man David Beauguel got the deciding goal in the Saudi Arabian cup game. After that encounter, he explained to 'L'Equipe' that he wanted to show Ronaldo that he admired him, but the Portuguese man didn't respond as he was expecting.
"He disappointed me a bit. At the end of the game, I said to him that I was a big fan and I asked for his shirt. He stretched out his hand without looking at me, with a very derogatory look", he commented.
He understands that he may have been annoyed about not winning, but he thinks there are ways to show it: "I stayed silent because I grew up admiring him. I still remember watching videos of him when I was at uni. I understand he would've been disappointed by the defeat, as he's a great competitor, but his attitude surprised me".
Beaguel also claimed that it wasn't just him who suffered from Ronaldo's bad attitude: "Even on the pitch, he was annoyed. He was shouting at his teammates".
Despite all this, the admirer thinks that signing the striker has been good for the country. "Other than the financial side, it's great for Saudi football. Him arriving may encourage others of his calibre to play here. This will mean football here can develop with academies, training centres, etc...", he concluded.
