Manchester City centre-back Ruben Dias does not believe that European football has lost any of its quality, as his international team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo recently claimed.
"I don't think anyone knows what's going to happen [in terms of the development of Saudi football]. We're waiting to see how things go, but I can only talk about the present and, in the present, the Premier League and Europe in general will continue to be more competitive," the international told 'Stats Perform'.
Speaking on the sidelines of Al Nassr's 5-0 friendly win over Celta Vigo in Faro, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner declared that he would not return to play in Europe, saying that "European football has lost a lot of quality" and that he even sees the Saudi league as stronger than certain European leagues thanks to the many new arrivals.
In addition, the Gulf State team played their second pre-season match also against a European team, in this case Benfica, and were also crushed 4-1 with a stellar performance by Di Maria.
