Joao Felix will not play for Benfica again... unless Atletico lower their financial demands. The Portuguese side have ruled themselves out of the race for the Portuguese winger because of the price the 'Colchonero' side are asking.
"I don't want to speculate any more, it's not a closed case. If we had the opportunity to bring him back, I would do it, but we don't have it," said Rui Costa, president of the Lisbon club, in a meeting with the media.
Benfica will not be able to bring back their prodigal son, who left for Atletico Madrid in what was the most expensive transfer in the club's history.
"It is not possible for Benfica to pay what Atletico Madrid want today for Joao Felix," the Portuguese manager said of Joao Felix, who is still training with his team.
The team that has insisted the most on the Portuguese international, apart from West Ham, is Barcelona, who want Joao Felix back without having to pay.
