Real Betis full-back Youssouf Sabaly, who was already sidelined for Monday's game against Mallorca, suffers a "grade I injury" to the muscle in his right leg and, although the club have not given a timetable for his recovery, he could miss four games in the next two weeks.
"Following tests carried out by the club's medical services on our player Youssouf Sabaly, a grade I injury to the soleus muscle in his right leg has been confirmed. The prognosis will depend on the evolution of the process," Betis said in a brief medical statement on Tuesday.
Sabaly, 31, was injured during a training session on Saturday and was not included in Chilean coach Manuel Pellegrini's squad for the Andalusian side's last match, which they lost 2-1 to Mallorca at the Benito Villamarin stadium on Monday.
The club do not indicate, in the statement, any estimated timeframe for the Senegal international's return to action and refer to the evolution of his injury, although it is presumed that he will need a couple of weeks to recover.
