Bukayo Saka has been firing up the right flank for Arsenal for quite some time now. The 23-year-old has been key for the Gunners so far, providing 5 asissts in the first 5 opening matches of the Premier League. With his latest in Arsenal's 4-2 win against Leicester, he becomes the first player to assist in each of the opening 6 games of a single Premier League campaign, as per 'TNT sports'.
On Sunday, Saka swung in a late corner, which was netted by Leandro Trossard via a deflection, and increased the Englishman's assist tally up to 6. His previous 5 assists came against Wolves (H), Aston Villa (A), Brighton (H), Tottenham (A), Man City (A).
With these numbers, the winger will aim to beat his last season's collection of 8 assists in the league, though he is still far from reaching his goalscoring tally, which counts 16 goals in the 2023/2024 season - the player currently has 1 goal in the Premier League.
As well as setting the record mentioned above, Saka is also on track to match the record for longest run of consecutive assists in the Premier League. Former Arsenal Mesut Ozil currently holds the record, assisting in 7 consecutive games in the 2015/2016 season with the Gunners.
