Jurgen Klopp's final season at Liverpool has marked the end of an era and has had a bittersweet ending. Although the Reds managed to lift the EFL Cup after beating Chelsea in the final, a late collapse saw them drop out of the Premier League title race and eliminated from the Europa League in the quarter-finals.
It is true that the Anfield side had started this season with big changes to the squad including the departure of players such as Firmino and the arrival of others such as Mac Allister and Szoboszlai. Meanwhile, Mohamed Salah remained at the club to lead the attacking line as he has done in recent years after turning down a pharaonic offer from Saudi Arabia.
The Egyptian, who was on everyone's lips in England a few weeks ago after having an argument with Jurgen Klopp on the touchline before taking the field, is not satisfied with just having lifted one trophy this season and promised through a social media message that the Reds would fight and give everything next season to win more silverware.
"We know that trophies are what count and we will do everything possible to make that happen next season. Our fans deserve it and we will fight like hell," the Egyptian wrote.
