Mohamed Salah’s agent has intensified speculation over the Liverpool star's future at the club after posting an angry rant on social media. Salah - who's contract is set to expire in nine moths - will become a free agent and will be able to negotiate with other clubs starting from January.
"I don't want to think about it. I feel like I'm free to play football and then we'll see what happens next year" he said after trashing Man United in a 3-0 win. His comments only fuelled talks, as reports have now linked the Egyptian with Juventus and PSG.
With rumours circulating around, agent Ramy Abbas Issa decided to address the situation in an heated message via his twitter: “FYI – all those ‘journalists’ who imply having ‘inside information’ about Mohamed’s future are making claims/posts based on absolutely nothing. Just click-w***ing. ‘Sources close to Mohamed’ don’t exist. This post is really just to tell you that they don’t know.” Although Abbas's goal was to put an end to the speculation, his message arguably does the exact opposite.
The agent is known for involvement in the player's transfer talk. In the 2023 summer window, when Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad offered £100million plus £50m in add-ons for Salah, Abbas also took it upon him to address rumours, and wrote: "If we considered leaving LFC this year, we wouldn’t have renewed the contract last summer. Mohamed remains committed to LFC."
Mohamed Salah is not the only one unbothered by the media, as Liverpool manager Arne Slot also appears to be relatively relaxed. “It’s a lot of ‘if’. At this moment he is one of ours and I am really happy with him being one of ours and he played really well,” he told 'Sky Sports'. “I don’t talk about contracts from players but I can talk for hours about how Mo played today.” While talks continue, Salah will look to be prepared for Liverpool's Premier League fixture against Nottingham Forest at Anflied on Saturday.
