William Saliba will not play for Arsenal in their crunch against Liverpool next weekend on October 27th. The defender was sent off in Saturday's match against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium for his foul on striker Evanilson.
It was Trossard's imprecise pass that lead Saliba to commit the foul. Saliba was Arsenal's last man when he brought down the number nine striker, who would've been through on goal, had he made it through.
Refeere initially handed the player a yellow card, while the crowd roared for the 24-year-old to be sent off. But, intervention from VAR allowed Jones to review his decision and show Saliba the red card.
Saliba will therefore be suspended against Liverpool. Arteta will have to prepare the game, fundamental for Arsenal's title hopes, without his main man in defence. Saliba will be back for Arsenal in their following Premier League game at Newcastle.
