Switzerland defender Fabian Schar suffered a broken nose, similar to that of France's Kylian Mbappe, and is doubtful for his side's upcoming European Championship clash with Germany.
The Newcastle player picked up the injury during the clash against Scotland. In the 19th minute, at a corner, he clashed with Anthony Ralston and suffered a fracture, which he later confirmed in the mixed zone after playing the full match: "My nose is broken," he said.
Switzerland have four points in Group A and coach Murat Yakin is likely to save Schar for the Round of 16 to ensure he makes a full recovery.
The fact that four of the six third-placed teams qualify means that Switzerland, with four points, are virtually assured of a place in the last 16.
