"See you in Miami": Messi lands in the MLS

In what has been dubbed 'the worst-kept secret of the MLS', Leo Messi is about to kick off his chapter in the American Major Soccer League. His Florida club, Inter Miami, posted a video with the Argentinian as a preview of his presentation, which will take place onSunday 16th July in Miami.
The Argentinian star took the opportunity to say his first words in his new home. As a nod to the World Cup win in Qatar: "Yes, guys. See you in Miami". His words sparked euphoria among the crowd.
In the video posted, a giant screen placed on the pitch of the DRV PNK Stadium is seen in the background with a person picking up a pot of pink spray paint from a bag with 'Messi' written on it.
Inter Miami also released Leo Messi's statement to the club's media: "I'm very excited to start this next step in my career with Inter Miami and in the United States. This is a fantastic opportunity and together we will continue to build this beautiful project. The idea is to work together to achieve the objectives we set, and I'm very eager to start helping here in my new home."
The '10' will make his debut with the team in pink on July 21st, when Gerardo 'El Tata' Martino's side take on Cruz Azul in the opening match of the Leagues Cup, a competition in which they can seal their place in the CONCACAF Champions League 2024.
