Sergi Roberto's future hangs in the balance. If at first it seemed that Barcelona were not going to renew him, and later that they were going to offer him one more year on his contract, none of this has finally happened. One of the club's captains is about to say goodbye.
'Marca' reported that Sergi Roberto has had enough of waiting for a resolution and will leave once his contract expires on 30th June. The lack of action by the ‘Cule’ club to deal with his future has finally tired him out.
Barcelona have asked him to wait until August to see if his registration can be formalised, due to the risk of leaving him out because of the ‘Financial Fair Play’ of the Catalan giants.
That is why Sergi Roberto has already begun talks with other clubs. Sources close to the negotiations, according to ‘Marca’, put his chances of leaving at 90%.
His future, now, could be in the MLS. The midfielder has said on more than one occasion that he is looking forward to moving to the United States, and more specifically to New York.
